Official Suppliers make a visit

The Official Suppliers to The Championships gathered at the All England Club last week for their annual conference, 'Wimbledon Live'.

Hosted by broadcaster and former British No.1 Andrew Castle, the event brought together some of Wimbleon's long-standing partners, such as Slazenger and IBM, with new partners, including Lavazza and Sony.

Re-affirming The Championships' ambition to continue to be the premier tennis tournament in the world, the Official Suppliers participated in three panel forums: From the TV set to the iPad - how sports viewing habits are changing; the future of tennis and the vision for Wimbledon; and building powerful brand associations with Wimbledon.

"Standing still is not an option," commented Chairman Philip Brook. "We are working together to take Wimbledon forward, while protecting the traditions that make it unique."

AELTC Committee member and former British No.1 Tim Henman was also in attendance, speaking about what Wimbledon means to him. Following a morning of lively debate, attendees were invited to take part in a tennis session with Henman and Castle on the AELTC's covered courts.
