Thursday at Queen's
Big win
Grigor Dimitrov. The young Bulgarian has found his feet on grass in a most exemplary fashion, the 21-year-old world No.72 sneaking through against Nicolas Mahut in straight sets, 7-6(3), 6-4. Dimitrov, whose style of play has been compared to Roger Federer’s, is yet to drop a set this week at the AEGON Championships. “I think it was one of my best wins so far. I don’t mind the grass. I enjoy it,” he said. He is through to his second quarter-final on grass.
Happy returns
It couldn’t be going better for Sam Querrey. The 2010 champion survived a tough test in his 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win over Julien Benneteau, who has never been short of grass court prowess. But Querrey, whose big serve propelled him to a title-clinching win against Mardy Fish two years ago, hung in, and continues to work his way back up the rankings after a lengthy injury lay-off. “I’ve been feeling better every week this year, and my serve is feeling great.”

Marathon match
Ivan Dodig d. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-6(3), 3-6, 7-6(5). Few could have thought that the world No.69 could cause the world No.5 problems, but Croatian Dodig did just that on Centre Court on Thursday, squeaking through the opening set in a tie-break, and doing the same to clinch the biggest win of his career by a matter of points. Taking two hours and 23 minutes to grind his way to victory, and set up a quarter-final showdown against Sam Querrey.
One to watch
Kevin Anderson. The No.9 seed has proved just what hard work can do, muscling his way past Feliciano Lopez in two tie-breaks.
Stat of the day
70% The percentage of shots that Ivan Dodig hit to Jo Wilfried Tsonga's weaker backhand wing, opening up the court for Dodig to release a foray of winners down the line.
