Visitors to Wimbledon will notice that something has been afoot this January. The Museum Shop, which sits underneath the AELTC offices and is the destination to buy Wimbledon gifts year round, has been completely refurbished, offering customers an improved shopping experience and enticing visitors into the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum through a new entrance.
Open to Championships spectators and visitors to Wimbledon year-round, the new and improved shop re-opened on 15th Feburary 2013, and follows in the footsteps of the successful refurbishment of the No.1 Court Shop in 2012.
Shown off among new fixtures and fittings and better lighting, the Wimbledon Shop’s most fabled, and most popular item is the Championships towel, manufactured by Christy, the official towel licensee for the past 25 years. A perfect memento of the greatest Grand Slam tournament in tennis, the towels are identical to those used on court by the professionals, and are available in the classic green and purple for men, and fashionable raspberry and purple for ladies. The 2013 towel is available to purchase now.
The jewellery range by Links of London is another fans’ favourite, and includes tennis-themed charms from strawberries to rackets to umpires’ chairs, as well as a range of necklaces and bracelets.
If you are looking for something a little different for the summer months, the Wimbledon homeware range by Sophie Allport is an increasingly successful part of the collection, and the perfect accompaniment to an English afternoon tea.
Many other products from the 2013 Collection, such as tennis accessories, bags, on court and off court apparel for all ages, gifts and souvenirs including keyrings, ties, and hats are also already available, and new stock will be added throughout March and April in preparation for The Championships.
The Wimbledon Shop is open seven days a week outside of The Championships and is at the entrance to the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum. Entry to the Shop is free and there is limited parking on site for visitors.
