My Wimbledon: Flavia Pennetta
In her 13th appearance at The Championships, the Italian player talks of how she likes to relax when she's here and being close to the crowds.  READ MORE

Flavia Pennetta knows Wimbledon well. She talks to us about what she does between matches and how she deals with the grass.

Why I love Wimbledon: "It's one of the best tournaments, as it has so much history and tradition. I love everything about it.”

My tip for a fan attending Wimbledon for the first time: "Appreciate being close to the players. I think it's nice for the crowd at Wimbledon as they can get very close to the players. When you play a match on an outside court, they are really close to you all the time, and there aren't a lot of tournaments where they can do that.”

How I like to relax in Wimbledon between matches: "Normally in Wimbledon, we rent a house, so we can walk everywhere and have a normal life. We love to cook and go to the supermarket, buy things and stay at home.”

The player from the past I would like to face on Centre Court: "Steffi Graf, because she was the best. I don't think I would beat her, but I would still like to play against her."

My Wimbledon highlight: "Reaching the fourth round - I've never been to the quarter-finals."

The one match at Wimbledon I would like the chance to play again: "There are a few, but especially one fourth-round match against Maria Sharapova when I lost 6-4 in the third set.”

Purchase Towels

My favourite Wimbledon tradition: "Strawberries and cream."

How I adapt my game to grass: "For me, it's not a big deal as I feel comfortable on grass. My tennis is pretty good on grass, so I don't have to make so many adjustments."

How I spend my time during a rain delay: “Waiting and waiting and waiting, and listening to music, and talking a lot."
