My Wimbledon: Serena Williams
Cream may not be one of them, but as she prepares for her eighth Wimbledon singles final, Serena reveals her favourite things about SW19. READ MORE

As she makes her 16th appearance here at The Championships, Serena Williams tells us some of the best things about being in SW19.

What I love about Wimbledon: "What I love most about Wimbledon are the pristine colours, the green and the white together, which looks so classic. It's the only Grand Slam that has that."

My advice for a young boy or girl who dreams of playing at Wimbledon: "Dream big. You've got to have big dreams and to think to yourself, 'I can do it'. And you have to train hard."

The most important shot when playing at Wimbledon: "Probably the slice, but I never use it, but I think it's important. Oh, and the serve, definitely the serve."

The number of bowls of strawberries and cream that I expect to eat during The Championships: "I never eat strawberries and cream, just the strawberries. So not the cream. But several bowls of just strawberries."

You've got to have big dreams and to think to yourself, 'I can do it'

How I would describe the crowds at Wimbledon: "They're really classy, and they like their champions."

I would queue overnight to watch this match on Centre Court: "Martina Navratilova against Chris Evert."

Henman Hill or Murray Mount? "Henman Hill."

My tips for a fan attending Wimbledon for the first time: "Eat strawberries and cream, go to the museum, and go early in the tournament as then you'll get a better chance of seeing more top players, and all of the courts are alive. That's the best time to go."

My favourite outside court: "Court 18."

My first memory of watching Wimbledon on television: "Zina Garrison getting to the final."

My Wimbledon highlight: "All the wins, though winning in 2012 was a big highlight for me."
