Learning Tour - Primary, Secondary, Further & Higher
From the height of the grass to the weight of the tennis balls, let our Learning team guide you through the many stories, bizarre though they may seem, that make a visit to Wimbledon such an unforgettable experience. The tour reveals the story behind the first Championships, explores No.1 Court, the Picnic Terraces (the famous hill), the Millennium Building including the press areas and the iconic Centre Court.*

Science Tour: Keeping Healthy - Primary
Using the Learning tour as a starting point, pupils can uncover the science behind the sport.
How do top players prepare before a match? What is a tennis player’s favourite pre-match meal? Why do tennis players have to warm up? Explore how the answers to these and other questions on the tour allow you to begin to follow in the footsteps of today’s elite tennis stars.

Geography Tour: How Green is Grass? - Primary
What does it take to create the perfect lawn tennis tournament?
Using the Championships site as a fieldwork study, with the aid of stories, maps and field sketches pupils can discover how much impact the tournament has on the surrounding area and will learn just how hard it really is to grow ‘green’ grass.

Geography Tour - Secondary
Is a lawn tennis tournament as green as it looks?
Students will be given a guided tour of the facilities, both old and new, used for the two weeks of The Championships. Using information on the scale and impact of a major sporting event, students are encouraged to identify bias, analyse source material and evaluate the evidence gained.

Booking a Visit
Visits can be made Monday to Friday 10:00 – 16:00 up until the May Half Term.
It is advisable to book early to avoid disappointment.
The number of pupils we can accommodate in a day will vary depending on the activities booked.
Prices and Payment
Workshops and tours are £70 each
There is an additional one off charge of £2 for each pupil
These prices do not include VAT
There is a minimum charge of 15 students
All prices are valid until 31st August 2015
All tours and workshops include a complimentary, self-guided, visit to the Museum. Trails are available on request.
